Week 5 Podcast and Podcast Script

Welcome to yet another week of reflections. 

 This week I almost pulled my hair out but i made it through. Let me tell you why. I love social media and I  heard about this podcast thing that all these celebrities are now doing so now i was like yea.

So guess what i show up for class and guess what for EDET 101 we were gonna do our recording for our podcast. I swear i was in a dream but i got excited about it and was ready to learn what this podcast thing was all about. Our class discussion involved question and answer segment on the following:

What  is  Audacity 

Audacity is a free, easy-to-use, multi- track audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux and other operating systems. The interface is translated into many languages.

What are the various uses of Audacity?

Here are some helpful uses 

Audacity is used to :

• Record live audio.
• Record computer playback  on any Windows Vista or later machine.
• Convert tapes and records  into digital recordings or CDs.
• Edit WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP2, MP3 or Ogg Vorbis sound files.
• AC3, M4A/M4R (AAC), WMA and other formats supported using optional libraries.
• Cut, copy, splice or mix sounds together.
• Numerous effects including change the speed or pitch  of a recording.
• Write your own plug-in effects with nyquist

What was the task?

.  Open gmail

.  Select Google Drive 

.  Select Google Docs 

 . Select New Form

 . Record scripts in Google Docs

 . Record Song / Poem

 . Edit Song or Poem to make it as clear as possible

 . Select Save

 . Select Export Audio

  .Select Wave or Mp3 5

   .Go to libraries Select music files 

  . Fill out Dialogue Box 

  . After saving name the file 

  . Finally save your file 

Audacity has several features where I can import or export music for my   movies. I can also utilize time shift to move around my audio.

Finally  I shared my podcast recording with the members of my class via google drive.

What were the challenges faced in doing the task,if any and explain how were they overcome?

Challenges there were so many  but I wont list all but  Im happy I got through with the three p's of life.  

1. After recording my audio i did not like how my voice projected as i played it over and over again  until i got it right. As they say practice makes perfect.

2. Sharing my podcast recording with my class mates for some unknown reason  it  was not been shared so I took a break  and asked one of my peers for assistance cause i was about to pull my hair out. After returning to the task  my recording was finally shared to my classmates  (yay)

Were there anything new learnt  as a result of the teaching and learning experience ? If yes  what was it, and explained how you benefited from it .

During this teaching and learning experience, I gained knowledgeable information on how to record,edit and publish my recording through the use of Audacity. I benefited  from it in a big.As a Teacher instead of using the regular ways of teaching a subject I can now utilize Audacity to benefit all of my students and their different learning styles.

Explain how you will use/implement what was covered in the lesson in your classroom.

 Upon my return to the classroom i will utilize the use of audacity in many of my subject areas such as science,social studies etc.
