Week 2: Learning and Learners

Dear Blog,

Wow!

 It's the end  of  another  fantastic  week. I can't believe it. We are beginning yet another interesting, exciting,bubbly,wonderful EDET class. I just love this class and it's one that i look forward to during the week because every week guess what i learn something new. The tutor is amazing well more like a genius.

 Our class began with regular pray and  in all things we must give God thanks for everything he has done for us. Its time for classes to begin so everyone took out their devices and we recapped from the previous class just to refresh our memories. Next we were taken on an interesting introduction which was wonderful. The topics of the day were introduced  Learners and Learning so I  began to wonder like what does this has to do with EDET so I began to listen. At the end I will share what is meant by Learners and Learning in Technology. 

They are  divided into the 9 multiple Intelligences

Spatial,Interpersonal,Linguistics,Body Kinesthetics,Interpersonal,Existential,Logical Mathematical,Musical,Naturalistic.

 I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say i never knew about these terms so i was wanted to know more, never to old to learn. 

 After a long class discussion we looked  the three main learning styles:

1.Visual - refers to the things they  can see around them in the classroom , they  are right in front of them,for example pictures and charts. With Visual Learning it caters for a child who learns through the use of Imagery(pictures) 

2. Audio Learners- is a learning  style in which a person learns through listening. An auditory learner depends on hearing and speaking as a main way of learning. They also use their listening and repeating skills to sort through the information that is sent to them.

3. Bodily Kinesthetic -  Kinesthetic learners prefer to being involved in activities. They need to apply the information and make it their own by constructing something or practicing a technique or skill.

Next,we moved on to another group of learners. I will just identify as we go along Visual Learners,Verbal Learners,Sequential Learners,Global Learners,Reflective learners. 

Another main group of learners was introduced today in class and they were quite interesting. We have Active,Reflective,Sensing Intuitive,Visual,Verbal Learners. 

I faced so many challenges getting my blog, I tried to insert a view pictures to make it more interesting and for some reason i just couldn't get my pictures to be uploaded. I eventually got one up after like 30 minutes or so. To get something right u have to do it over and over again and that's just what i did.  

Upon my return to the classroom, I will seek to find out the various types of learners in my class and use different teaching aids geared towards their learning.

As I conclude this blog, I just want to share my definition of learning with you. We can say that learning is a permanent change in knowledge skills and attitudes based on lifelong learning experiences.
