Week 3: Reflections - Net Etiquette,Network,Internet

Its me again,



We have completed yet another EDET class𝅳



What was the task?

This morning our task was to identify the classroom setting. It was identified as a horseshoe or U shape. It helps the tutor to have a good classroom interaction with her students. I usually arrange my class in groups and sometimes in a horse shape so I learned something new this morning.


What was the task and how it was completed ?



We were asked  to place ourselves into groups and put our creative minds and work together to create classroom rules.

Each group member was given a task (1) Dornelle did the writing, (2) I researched the pictures (3 )Janet did the drawing for the images. From there we started working 
These rules had to be specific/clear for  a technology education class.
My classmates and I came up with some fantastic ideas and from those ideas we created our rules. So as teachers we have to remind the students that rules are used or made  to guide behaviours.
Then we have to make our presentation, guess what I  hate to go in front of an audience I just get nervous instantly but i did well. 


My group did our presentation and it went pretty well. The tutor Mrs Roberts was pleased with our presentation. Guess what i did today I created my signature for my gmail account (yay). I didn't even know that could be done,this class is just fantastic . Here's how it was done:



(1). Go to setting

(2). Scroll down until you see signature
(3). Select Signature 
(4).Type in your signature
(5).Add your number (optional)
(6).Make an appropriate email address
(7). Select font and font size


Was there anything new learnt,as a result of teaching and learning experience?If yes what was it and explained how u benefitted from it.



 We moved on to another part of class. I was introduced to the word Netiquette, Net Etiquette, Network, Internet,Email. I was shaking my head in class wondering what is net etiquette what kind word is that, so I became curious and I research for myself using the google search engine and found the meaning and Net Etiquette refers to the rules that have developed as people have begun to communicate and interact on the Internet. We discussed the internet and its purpose,emails and types of email whether it is hot or gmail or yahoo. In class we even spoke about how to write a email and to the appropriate persons, be careful of your tone and finally acknowledge that you have indeed received the email. 



What was the challenges faced in doing the task,if any and explain how were they overcome?



Did I  face any real challenges, no I did not the instructions were straightforward and I executed my task and then i send it to all my classmates,but then guess what some came back as rejected mail because somehow the emails were not correct or they were not recognizable so i had to contact a few of them to get the correct email addresses that took like almost 30 - 45 minutes.  


Explain how you will use/implement what was covered in the
lesson in your classroom


I plan to implement the use of the U shape or horseshoe arrangement to have a better interaction with my class because sometimes as small children when they are arranged in a different ways, I  may not be reaching every student and i may not be getting everyone's full attention. With this classroom arrangement I can move around freely and can observe and see their work progress. I will also have more involvement and participation they will be more involved and they can even work in pairs of twos.



I have come to the conclusion of yet another reflection from my EDET class.
