Week 7 Reflections The use of Spread Sheet

Dear Journal,

This week we were introduced to using the Spreadsheet application as a tool for documenting students grades. The use of this application as a classroom teacher increases the amount of technology used in their teaching and learning. It a move towards a more modern classroom.


What was the task? 
  •  Enter the students' name, total grades, averages 
  • Highlight the first row in the Excel spreadsheet
  • Change the font style, make it bold
  • Select the pattern and highlight it 
  • Right click and select format cells
  • After you select Fill tab, choose a colour of choice and click okay 
  • Click the insert option then okay
  • Click on the cell, then the FX button
  • When you see the insert function statistical choose the average function in the list below.

A - addition 
D - divide
S - subtract
H - heading 
E - equal 
E - excel
T - total 




Below is an example of a spreadsheets that were created during a class activity.

The experience from creating a Spreadsheet was really good. I learned so many things that I didn't know before like how to change the colour of the heading on a Spreadsheet. Although some thing were harder to remember like how to insert the different functions, I was able to see how it can be useful. I enjoyed using the application during this week of EDET.
